Hiccups, go to hell.
posted in Blogs |I just had a really horrific bout of hiccups so I decided to google how the fuck you get rid of that and found out some interesting things I didn’t know.

“Hiccups are the result of an irritation in your diaphragm, following which an involuntary and generally repeated spasm forces a rush of air into your lungs and causes a premature closing of your epiglottis, causing an all-too familiar sound: “Hic!”
The main causes for these irritations are relatively familiar as well: eating spicy foods or eating too quickly, drinking too much, continuous laughing, coughing, crying out loud, or being pregnant.”
I then tried the first method I saw listed, taking painfully deep breaths, with equally as deep exhales, and whaddaya know, worked. I also read about a pressure point between your nose and upper lip that you can press and then count until the hiccupping stops, but I tried that a few times and it didn’t work. I think the point isn’t necessarily the pressure, but just concentrating on something so your diaphragm has a chance to stop being spastic.
Anyhow, no more need to have someone scare you or try to drink water upside down or whatever. Just ..breathe!
